 Theft prevention
Ituran specializes in the fast, efficient frustration of vehicle theft. Our systems are based on some of the world’s most advanced location technologies and can be also used for the pinpoint location of people, merchandise and equipment.
The systems consist of a coded transmitter/receiver unit (for the vehicle, person, etc.) that communicates in real-time with a national control center that operates 24/7 and with additional country-wide transmission/reception sites. Ituran in-vehicle system components meet the requirements of today’s new-vehicle technologies and are installed with a minimum of intervention with vehicle systems. In Israel, matching of Ituran systems with vehicles is made in full coordination and with the approval of authorized vehicle importers.
Upon receipt at the national controlcenter of a notification of an attempt at theft, Ituran’s enforcement system isimmediately deployed and the customer informed.
Ituran’s enforcement system is the operational strength of the company. In Israel, Ituran employs more than 60 field enforcement personnel, all demobilized combat soliders. The group has a single responsibility: preventing vehicle theft. The group is equipped with a variety of vehicles, including all-wheel drive trucks and motorcycles. Its members respond instantly to calls from the national control center, and in addition watch from observation posts, conduct ambushes and gather intelligence in cooperation with the country’s security agencies. Ituran’s customers benefit from our 90 percent success rate in frustrating thefts reported to the national control center. To date, Ituran has successfully prevented or resolved the theft of more than 15,000 vehicles with a total value of more than $1 billion.
Ituran offers a variety of updating, warning, information and security services that are available around the clock at an additional fee:

SMS break-in warning – sends a text message about any illegal activity concerning your vehicle to a designated cellular telephone (or telephones).

SMS speeding notice – sends a text message to a designated cellular telephone (or telephones) when the vehicle exceeds a set (and changeable) speed.

Internet locating – Locates a vehicle through Ituran’s website via a fast, easy, and user-friendly interface and advanced mapping technology. The service enables a vehicle owner to determine the exact location of his vehicle at all times and from any computer.

Collision sensor – An Ituran exclusive, this service uses a detector in the vehicle that enables the real-time receipt of a warning about a collision occurrence. The detector is similar to those that release air bags and deploys at a similar collision force. Should such a collision occur, the detector instantly notifies Ituran’s 24/7 national control center, which, depending on the circumstances in the field, and vehicle location information, dispatches and directs assistance as required to the driver and passengers.
