United Hatzalah

United Hatzalah of Israel is the largest independent, non-profit, fully volunteer emergency medical service organization in the country. The organization provides free emergency medical first response services to everyone in need.
United Hatzalah offers 24/7 365 days-a-year free first response services through its 5,000 volunteers, and operates a fleet of 1,000 iconic ambucycles and ambulances. The organization’s mission is to arrive at the scene of medical emergencies as soon as possible (less than 3 minutes across the country and 90 seconds in metropolitan areas) and to save more lives by providing patients with professional and appropriate medical aid until an ambulance arrives.

The Challenge

United Hatzalah’s promise is to arrive at the scene of a medical emergency in record time. Efficiently and safely managing the organization’s fleet and dispatch means the volunteer with the relevant skills reaches the scene as fast as humanly possible, and with the appropriate equipment.

Our Solution

A combination of Ituran’s Fleet Management software, Ituran telematics devices, and a driver identification add-on to assure the closest and most specifically skilled
volunteer medics are dispatched to the scene of each emergency.

Hardware

An Ituran telematics tracking device installed at the vehicle and identifies where each vehicle is located at any point in time.

Software

Ituran’s fleet management software which identifies the location of each vehicle in real-time, automatically dispatches the closest relevant volunteer to the scene, allows coordination with other medical services arriving at the scene or waiting to receive patients.
