E-commerce is on the rise and companies are shipping a larger than ever variety and quantity of goods directly to consumers’ homes. This is why securing the supply chain in general and the last mile in particular has never been more important, and as such, presents a major challenge for fleet managers/owners, operations managers, supply managers or any other relevant company stakeholder. Concerns about theft of goods, unsafe driving that could lead to delays in delivery or damaged goods and being able to track mobile assets are just a few of their worries. • Protection from thefts – Ituran’s stolen vehicle recovery  (SVR) is an active protection shield that enables real-time 24/7 detection of theft attempts (based on location- time- or event-oriented policies as defined by the customer), tracking and launch of recovery actions by the appropriate suppliers when needed. Vehicles are tracked using our proprietary algorithms which identify deviations from geographical routines, unusual driver behavior and jamming attempts.
• Protection for transported goods – Ituran’s tracking devices can be easily hidden in transported items such as cigarette boxes, or pre-boxed sets of goods, to safeguard the goods as they travel through all stages of the supply chain, including the last mile and arrive safely at their destination.
• Extra wireless cameras can be installed in vulnerable places (up to 4 add-on cameras per vehicle in addition to the main road camera), such as the truck’s cargo compartment. If the door is opened in an unauthorized geolocation, the system will send a real-time alert, and the camera will record the event and upload it to the cloud allowing the recording to be recovered even if the camera is destroyed.
• Temperature monitoring software ensures that sensitive goods such as food and pharma products arrive intact, and that health and transportation regulations are upheld.
• Driver safety is a prime concern, as safer drivers are better drivers, and they deliver the goods intact and on time. In order to protect the drivers’ safety, a distress button, emergency code or even a voice alert is available them to send out a signal if something goes wrong.
• Make sure only authorized drivers are at the wheel, and that they are safe– Ituran’s StarLink tracker and safety device is a versatile telematics device that sends alerts every time a vehicle stops, changes route or enters a high–risk area, and notifications when trips exceed their expected duration. Driver identification features ensure that only authorized drivers are behind the wheel. Moreover, in case there are several drivers assigned to the same vehicle, this feature ensures that the right driver is identified at all times.
• Disable the ignition on off hours with a remote kill ignition system that disables ignition during unauthorized hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) according to predefined rules that can be changed remotely.  Along with driver ID, protects your vehicle and goods even when the authorized driver cooperates with the thief and provides the code.
• Get a clear view of driver behavior – with a dash cam that is fully integrated with Ituran’s FMS platform fleet managers can get a view of drivers’ behavior and events such as drowsiness, distractions, unsafe driving, driver smoking and use of a mobile phone while driving , which may have a serious impact on the safety of the drivers, passengers and/or goods.
• Viewable evidence in case of accident, theft or unsafe driving – For extra protection, the integrated system also creates viewable evidence in case of an accident or theft; to help reduce unjustified damage claims and protect your property. And it can be used as a learning and improvement tool to help drivers learn and improve their driving habits in the future.
• Track your mobile assets – Ituran’s mobile asset & cargo tracking system monitors, collects and analyzes accurate real-time information on the location of any mobile assets such as trailers regardless of connectivity to a vehicle or power source and even in extremely harsh weather conditions.
