Passenger Safety Back Seat Alarm

Too often we hear about small children, elderly or people with disabilities accidentally left behind in a locked vehicle, by a shuttle driver and even by those who care about them most; a human mistake can have devastating consequences.

To prevent such cases and avoid any situation where someone is left behind, Ituran developed a backseat alarm for commercial vehicles, a system that reminds drivers to check the back seat of their vehicle before locking up. The simple and sophisticated solution is based on a special switch installed in the back of the passenger compartment, which needs to be physically activated by the driver using a key or a personal card, both before and after each trip.

If the system is not activated prior to ignition, and after turning engine off, horns automatically starts honking and vehicle headlights begin to blink. Simultaneous to alerting the driver, a notification is immediately sent (through Ituran’s fleet management system or text message) to a designated person in your company.

Forcing drivers to perform a simple scan of the vehicle at the beginning and end of every trip, saves precious lives, protects passengers and prevents damage to goods.
